Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care system that combines scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. The naturopathic philosophy is to stimulate the innate healing power within the body and treat the underlying cause of disease.
At Adara, our naturopathic doctors view symptoms as signals of improper functioning of the body and we emphasize treating each patient with a whole body approach. Setting the foundation of health allows the root of the problem to be addressed for sustainable health outcomes. Treating both acute and chronic conditions, naturopathic treatments are chosen based on the specific condition of each patient – their physiological, psychological, social, spiritual, environmental and lifestyle habits are all considered to be important factors.
Common reasons to see a naturopathic doctor:
- Digestive concerns
- Fatigue
- Anxiety, depression
- Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
- Menopause
- Poor mental focus
- Skin conditions – acne, eczema, psoriasis
- Weakened immune system
- Sleep disturbances
- Weight management
- Infertility/difficult conception
Naturopathic medicine includes: diet lifestyle counseling, botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, naturopathic manipulation and traditional Chinese medicine & acupuncture.
Adara’s naturopathic doctors have all received their doctor of naturopathic medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, one of two accredited educational institutions in Canada, and are board certified and licensed by the Province of Ontario.
